Her body was limp in his arms by the time he reached the Circlet of Elders. For now, unconscious. But maybe she’d never wake up again.

No. Don’t think. Don’t look down and see her bleeding on you. Don’t even speculate that this could be the last time. Brackus closed his eyes and pictured her happy, healthy, alive, arms wrapped around him, holding and never letting go.

He collapsed into the Circlet, stumbling over the stones carved with ancient Sigils. Brackus rose to his feet, wincing the entire time. It wouldn’t work if he was on his knees. And he needed the stupid Circlet now.

Brackus looked down, hopefully. She was still unconcious against him, her wounds open and very much there. He couldn’t do anything. This was when she needed him most and he couldn’t even help her—

The Ancient Rocks began glowing.

A circle of magic slowly descended upon the pair. Tears were running down Brackus’s face. He couldn’t stop them. He couldn’t stop anything. “Damnit, Selia, you’re going to live…you’ve got to…” Brackus’s voice was hoarse.

I love her.

It burst into his mind. The circlet singed around his feet. Waves of power shot up from it, slowly claiming them both.

Brackus closed his eyes, feeling the soft tendrils of magic curl around them. The thought resonated like a gong.
I love her. I love Selia.

“I’m never going to let you go,” he promised, holding her tighter as white enveloped her. The sun was rising, bathing the entire scene in an eerie light. But the tears still ran from his face.

He felt her stir in his arms. Brackus looked down and saw her face contorted in pain. “You know it had to be one of us,” Selia whispered. “Let it claim me, Brackus. I don’t care anymore—”

“No,” he shook his head. “Never. Selia, if you…without you…I’ll never welcome the sunrise again, I’ll hate every day of my life…”

A scene I speculate might happen in ~Lady-Selia's prequel, Requiem for the Fallen. Brackus is a villain in the Canadian cartoon Di-gata Defenders, and Selia is her fan-character.

I promised her a Brackus/Selia manip when I hit 1,500 pageviews, but my Photoshop screwed up so it was impossible. Well, here it is now.

XD the conversation is kinda sorta like something I've already got written for Requiem, but that whole scene isn't a whole lot different then something I've got planned ;) ohhhh you're good!

Woah, looks great! Rather inspirational. I've been meaning to do a Brackus/Selia manip, too, but nothing seems to turn out.

I love the faded, sketchy quality to this. It's very intriguing, especially since most of the colors are so rich and vivid. Nice work! :)

It's a nice picture, looks like water colour, or blurred like it I guess, not like I'm much of an artist myself. The "caption" is good too, should probably be a post on its own :P
