Voice of Thy Thunder isn't the only novel I'm thinking of. This beauty will be my Nanowrimo (national novel writing month) if I can finish Vott in time.

Obviously a romance, the first non-fanfiction romantic novel I've attempted. I tried to make the cover look like a normal romance with a hint of something different, a.k.a. the vines on his arms and the bloody flower he's holding behind her back.

Basically the whole "Winter for the Weed" thing is a complicated metaphor, the plot has nothing to do with gardening. Here's a blurb:

Iris is not too pleased when the gorgeous, flawless new kid in High School Calix attempts to sweep her off her feet. He blackmails her into dating him and her feelings of loathing grow stronger.

But this is not your normal hate-love relationship, and her instant dislike goes far deeper than simply being annoyed by the self-absorbed, overconfident Calix. He's really an immortal, inhuman minion created by Uranus, the original Father of the Universe. She's a descendant of Gaia, the mother. And like all Gaia descendants, Iris is developing supernatural powers. And like all Uranus minions, Calix's job is to convince Iris to fall in love with him and believe that their relationship will last forever. Once she opens her heart to him, her powers are his to take.

That's not all that easy, especially since Iris's mother was tricked into marrying one of the Uranus's minions, who became Iris's father, who after taking her powers vanished without a word. Now her mom is mentally unstable and Iris promises herself she'll never fall for Calix.

Things become complicated when she begins to go back on that promise...

I'm experimenting with cover-style-stuff.

Glad you like the story! I'm pretty excited about it too.

I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of hunger for life that gnaws in us all. ~Richard Wright

Didn't know you were doing it too (I may, may not, may start late, depends on how well my current novel goes...) I added you as a buddy.

I was pretty much resigned to never do it again last year because I was writing 20-50k a month anyways, but now I'm lucky if I get 2-5k, so I'm hoping it'll at least help me to jumpstart or something...
